Port of Oakland cargo volumes drop 7pc in September

THE Port of Oakland saw a seven per cent year-on-year drop in cargo volumes in September, handling a total of 171,822 TEU, reports Washington's Supply Chain Dive.

This marks another consecutive decline for the port. Furthermore, total volume was also down in a month-to month 179,161 TEU reported in August.

The port had previously noted that retailers, manufacturers, and other shippers have been reducing their import volumes.

This trend began in 2021 and has continued to impact ports, including the Port of Oakland.
