IN the week ending on September 22, the index measuring China's export container transport, as reported by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, experienced a decline, reports Xinhua.
The average China Containerised Freight Index (CCFI) dropped by 0.4 per cent compared to the previous week, reaching 871.80, as indicated by the shipping exchange.
Notably, the sub-index for the South America service witnessed a notable decline of 4.7 per cent compared to the previous week.
However, in contrast, the sub-index for the Southeast Asia service exhibited a significant increase of 5.5 per cent on a week-to-week basis.
The CCFI is a comprehensive tool for monitoring spot and contractual freight rates originating from Chinese container ports, encompassing 12 shipping routes worldwide, and relies on data provided by 22 international carriers.
